Putin: NATO Expansion a 'Direct Threat to Russia'

President Putin says NATO’s expansion eastwards is a direct threat to Russia’s security. He made the comment after talks between Moscow and NATO broke up without agreement in Romania. One of the major sticking points is NATO’s support for a U.S. anti-missile defence system in Europe.


Go read. Very interesting: joining NATO would "sacrifice part of our sovereignty to create the illusion of increasing our security." I wonder what the French would say to that!
