NOT! IN! MY! NAME! DAMNIT!

Today the Senate released a report on the CIA's activities gaining information in an atypical manner: in a word, torture.  Our Spooks tortured people to death.  They tortured people to the point of driving them insane.

I have been reading some of the report and have read the press coverage

THIS IS WRONG!

Not the report itself.  Its necessary to tell the truth.   The United States of America tortured people.  We did so knowingly and in horrific ways.  We did this incompetently.  We did evil.  We have a sin and a stain upon our national soul.

One absolutely fucking ridiculous part is the CIA *STATED* in testimony to Congress in 1989 torture does NOT work!!!

Another is two twisted psychologists who "designed" the program.  They stated they felt the folks who were against torture in interrogations wanted to run a "sissified" program! These same fuckheads had designed a program to extract information BUT HAD NEVER EVEN PARTICIPATED IN A SINGLE INTERROGATION BEFORE!  WHAT THE FUCK!

THEN!  Those same two fucks formed a company to act as a contractor for the CIA to conduct torture for them!  The CIA OUTSOURCED its sin!  To the guys who designed it!  For $81 million!

The individuals who conducted the torture, the individuals who approved the torture, the individuals who managed the program and the individuals who covered up that torture should be tried for human rights violations.  They are war criminals and have conducted crimes against humanity.  They should be held accountable.  They should be held accountable through the rule of law.  Something they themselves have a hard time conceptualizing.

The fact is our national narrative claims we are the good guys, the white hats.  This report shows the CIA program is a blatant contradiction to that narrative, our narrative.

Normally I a very proud American, a nationalist even.

Today, I am ashamed.

Worse than knowing about something terrible is not knowing about it. Worse than either is knowing bout something and not caring.
