The Cthulhu of Supercomputing's Thoughts on HPC in 1995





I was in the HPC world in 1995.  It was a time of upheaval as many HPC computing companies were going out of business: the Cold War was over and they had by and large failed to find new sources of revenue than the US government (note: the US gov is STILL the largest source...as are govs around the world for other companies).

Here is what the NSA was thinking in 1995 about the market place and what it had to do to protect its technological needs.
