Is it me or does James Cameron's newest (Avatar) seem like a bad case of James Nicoll's Honky blended with the whole noble savage theme?

It also fails biology forever. Not only is every organism on the planet a shade of cobalt, despite the foliage being green and the animals standing out like sore thumbs, every animal in the trailers looks just like a blue version of some fictional or extant Earth species. Blue brontotheres, blue horses, blue dragons, and most egregriously, blue catgirls...IN SPACE!
It has more of an earthly fantastic feeling than an alien world ...
there are far better creature designer like this guy for example
