Russia's Most Syrian Adventure #31

Russian S-400 SAMs in Syria

The Russians have hit 286 targets in the last 48 hours.

Putin claims to have hit targets designated by the Free Syrian Army.

The Assadite Syrian Army claims to have captured Tel Hadya, a village north of Aleppo.

Putin has stated the Russians will stay involved until Assad's offensive is complete.  I think this is pretty much code for "we're staying until Assad is stable."

While Britain, France and others have stated Assad must go, Russia has stated no country has the right to force a change in regime.

Egypt Air, the airline, has been barred from flying into and out of Russia as a consequence of the downing of the Russian airliner.

The CIA has come out to state the rebels have weapons capable of hitting aircraft above 10km (33,000 ft).

Here's an opinion at the USNI about what Russia's role in Syria is.

Russia's military operations in Syria have shown a huge improvement in their capabilities.
