Apparently, it was not a single B-52 bomber that flew over/near the Chinese artificial islands, but two.
As a grand follow-up, the USS Essex - a helicopter carrier - and its amphibious readiness group are cruising the South China Sea.
The Chinese have responded saying they support freedom of navigation in the South China Sea. Note: freedom or navigation and economic rights are != same thing.
