Fire of the Son

A family tradition now is to take the kids up to the Montclair district in Oakland for easter egg hunting.  The Montclair Lions have been putting on an Easter Egg hunt since 1947 (iirc).  The hunt literally lasts about two minutes with a mad scramble of kids.  Avrora and Orest both went.  They had a blast.  In multiple ways.  The tradition is that the fire department would show up with a fire engine and at exactly 9 AM, they fire up the siren.  The kids race out and collect the eggs.  Afterwards, they go off home or get their face painted.  My son was NOT interested in face painting.  He was in teh fire truck.

And sooo...
