We Will Almost Get the Tethys Back




If we get a 60m sea rise.

An the Aral Sea might connect to the rest of it!

Just as important (or actually more so) is whether or not the Pacific and Atlantic link up in Central America.


That is...debatable.  If it does...yikes!

They'll have to get a bit more effective at reversing the anthropogenic desiccation of the Aral than they have been so far if it's going to join up with anything...

The landlocked Caspian isn't going to expand just because general sea levels rise. You'd need a dramatic increase in rainfall in the Caspian watershed for that.

Doug, but the Caspian isn't landlocked in that map. Asov is draining into it.
