The US Navy's (USN's) lead Zumwalt-class destroyer is expected to commence dock trials in the final quarter of 2015 ahead of its first at-sea period, officials confirmed to IHS Jane's on 14 September.
Zumwalt (DDG 1000) is completing construction and undergoing testing at General Dynamics Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine. At 97% build complete, navy officials are estimating that the ship's construction will be finished in September.
