Ukraine War Update: лягушки в зимний

VERY strange things are happening in the Russo-Ukrainian War.  I cannot even interpret what is going on at the moment.  Some would be tempting to interpret in an optimistic fashion.  Others remain the same.  Some continue to deteriorate.

First off, the Ukrainian SBU has IDed the Russian generals running the show in the Donbass.  They sent a 30 page report to the US on who is commanding what and whom.  All the generals present are very experienced.

The tanks have continued to pour into the Donbass.  There is now even a minimal attempt at painting over the insignia from the Russian arsenals. There is also some half assed attempts at blurring the faces of some of the soldiers after the Selfie Soldier segment was run by Vice News.

Shelling continue north of Shirokyne through the LNR to the north.

A company of Ukrainian soldiers from the Volunteer Battalion Kharkiv-2 has disappeared in Maryinka.  What happened is not known.  Did they go AWOL?  Were they ambushed?  Are they sneaking across the contact line?  There were skirmishes with AFVs this week at Maryinka.

In the positive realm, the Donnie Rebs did quit Shirokyne.  This was intended, according to the DNR, to show a good faith act and to create a buffer zone between the DNR and UAF.  The Ukrainians appreciated the act: the Ukrainians moved into the town...which I don't think was what the DNR had in mind. The town is an utter ruin.

The Russians have, inexplicably, cut off electricity to the DNR.

For some reason a very strategic bridge for the Donnie Rebs was significantly damaged by an explosion.  This will potentially have a big impact for moving around mechanized forces for the DNR.  What happened is up in the air.  Speculation is that the UAF did a special op.

Just to keep things grim, the rumors are still abounding about the July 15th Donnie Reb offensive.

(if anyone gets the reference to the title I'll be shocked)
