The Free Syrian Army denies it is getting support from the Russians.
The US is pressing Russia to deescalate with Turkey.
At the same time, the US refuses to join with Russia in a coalition.
Some are calling the Russian fighting in Syria a quagmire already. That seems likely, but premature.
