I have been following the Ukrainian election a bit. It looks as though, with 92% of the vote counted, that Yanukovich will end up with the single largest faction. Following with Tymoshenko about 3 or 4% behind. That's a big leap for her. With Yuschenko's alliance it ought to be enough to build a coalition that will have a majority. Or not. If the Socialists hold their 3% or better then I have a sinking feeling that the Blue forces are going to be the ones forming the government. The real wild card though is the "People's Block of Lytvyn" I haven't been able to ferret out his "loyalty" tendencies.
FWIW, this election was racked with fraud. People we know voted multiple times for people there were not there and not planning on voting. Rather sad.
Additionally, our friend, Anatoly, aka the Fixer, has been coopted into the Party of Regions. Lyuda and I are rather depressed with that. He's been a good man and to see him go down this path...well...*sighs*
