Denmark's Spy Agency has Opened a Hacker Academy

Denmark's military intelligence agency says it's creating "a hacker academy" where to train IT specialists who, if they graduate, will be offered employment.

In a statement, the secretive Danish Defiance Intelligence Service (DDIS) says the small group who will be enrolled are "already are among the best in their field."

DDIS said Wednesday the academy "will not teach them how to hack" but will "target their mindset and skills so that they can be used" by the agency which spies outside Denmark's border.

Schadenfreude is the Proper German Word for the German Intelligence Spying on Allies

The head of a German parliamentary committee says an investigation has concluded that the country's intelligence agency improperly spied on targets in other European Union and NATO countries.

The committee that oversees the intelligence service set up a task force in October to examine suspicions that the BND intelligence agency improperly snooped on allies in the past.

Oh! The Hypocrisy! Germany's Intel Service Spied on France, America, More

Germany's foreign intelligence service spied on targets including French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, the FBI and the UN children's fund, a media report said Wednesday.

The latest news report on the BND spy service fuels a debate in Germany about state surveillance that was kicked off by the revelations of fugitive US intelligence contractor Edward Snowden.

The claims are awkward for Chancellor Angela Merkel, whose office oversees Germany's intelligence activities, after she angrily told Washington in 2013 that "spying among friends isn't on" following reports the US National Security Agency (NSA) had bugged her cellphone.

The latest report, by Berlin public radio, adds to the list of targets the BND has allegedly spied on, citing the BND's "selectors" -- phone numbers, email and IP addresses -- for surveillance, which has been the subject of an investigation by a parliamentary oversight panel.

According to RBB Inforadio, which did not name its sources, the service has spied on Fabius, the International Court of Justice in The Hague, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United Nations bodies UNICEF and the World Health Organization.

Also on the list were "many European and American companies, including weapons makers such as Lockheed of the United States," said the report.

The Robopocalypse is Coming for the Intelligence Community...Soon

The intelligence community is on the verge of “revolutionary” technical advances. Spy satellites and other systems will be able to watch a place or a person for long periods of time and warn intelligence analysts and operatives when target changes its behavior. Satellites and their sensors could be redirected automatically to ensure nothing is missed.

Putin Claims Internet a CIA Project

President Vladimir Putin on Thursday called the Internet a CIA project and made comments about Russia's biggest search engine Yandex, sending the company's shares plummeting.

The Kremlin has been anxious to exert greater control over the Internet, which opposition activists — barred from national television — have used to promote their ideas and organize protests.

Russia's parliament this week passed a law requiring social media websites to keep their servers in Russia and save all information about their users for at least half a year. Also, businessmen close to Putin now control Russia's leading social media network, VKontakte.

Speaking Thursday at a media forum in St. Petersburg, Putin said that the Internet originally was a "CIA project" and "is still developing as such."

To resist that influence, Putin said, Russia needs to "fight for its interests" online.

tsk.  its an NSA project, Putty-pie.  ;)
